J’ai fait l’acquisition d’un NFT ce matin. Ma toute première pièce «d’art numérique». Personnellement, j’étais et je suis encore dans le camp de ceux qui pensent qu’acheter un NFT n’a aucune valeur et que le concept est juste stupide.
Cependant, j’attribue ce sentiment à mon manque d’éducation en la matière. J’ai peine à suivre le monde de la cryptomonnaie que celui des NFT (Non-Fungible Token) vient se pointer le bout du nez.
Comme toute nouvelle technologie qui arrive sur le marché, il est difficile de se faire une opinion. Les forums sont remplis d’un camp du pour et un autre pour le non. Et c’est ceux qui se retrouvent au milieu qui s’en sortent souvent le mieux.
Mais revenons aux faits… j’ai acheté une image d’un Bacon Gentleman! J’ai dépensé 15 jetons de Cardano (ADA) qui valent environ 17 $ aujourd’hui.
Je vous présente le premier NFT de l’entreprise de technologie financière Hardbacon : Le Bored Bacon Dandy.
Est-ce que j’ai peur de me faire voler mon Bacon? Pas du tout. Il faut comprendre qu’un NFT peut se faire copier et utiliser par les autres. Tout comme on copie des images de Google pour un projet d’école qui ont un droit d’auteur. C’est pas cool, on pourrait se faire poursuivre, mais c’est extrêmement rare.
Pour faire court, un NFT repose sur le même concept à une différence près. Ça vous appartient. Vous êtes maintenant le propriétaire. Contrairement à une reproduction où l’artiste en question garde les droits. Il peut arriver que vous achetiez un NFT où les droits de reproduction et le copyright ne soient pas transférés. C’est que j’ai compris..

I used my Cardano to buy a Bacon NFT!
I purchased an NFT this morning. My very first piece of «digital art.» Personally, I was and still am in the camp of those who think that buying an NFT has no value and that the concept is just stupid.
However, I attribute this feeling to my lack of education on the subject. I barely keep up with the world of cryptocurrency that NFTs (Non-fungible Token) turn the corner to say hello.
Like any new technology that comes to market, it’s hard to form an opinion. The forums are filled with one camp of the pro and another for the no. And it’s those in the middle who often come out on top.
But back to the facts… I bought an image of a Bacon Gentleman! I spent 15 token of Cardano (ADA) which are worth about $17 CAD today.
I present to you the first NFT from the fintech company Hardbacon : The Bored Bacon Dandy.
Am I afraid of having my Bacon stolen? Not at all. You have to understand that an NFT can be copied and used by others. Just like copying images from Google for a school project that has a copyright. It’s not cool, you could get sued, but it’s extremely rare.
Long story short, an NFT is based on the same concept with one difference. You own it. You are now the owner. Unlike a reproduction where the artist keeps the rights. It may happen that you buy an NFT where the reproduction rights and the copyright are not transferred.
I will write in another article about my process of buying this NFT. Believe me, it is so simple and so complicated at the same time.
